Revival of the 80s brands

"Do you have a copy of Fly Fishing by J.R.Hartley?"
"Oh you do! Will you keep it for me?"
"My name? Yes of course it's......Mr J.R.Hartley"

Some adverts and their taglines just stick in your mind and the Yellow Pages ads, conceived in 1983,  are no exception. Known for their J.R.Hartley character they gained many inclusions in 80s comic sketches (think Harry Enfield / Fry & Laurie).

Now Yellow Pages are reviving the format for the iPhone generation. The new ad, first aired on Sunday 6 February online and on TV, features Trance DJ Day V Lately trying to track down an old mix. Will it revive the passion in Yellow Pages (albeit through the new app and not through the massive tome that most people just shove straight into the recycling bin!)

First Old Spice, now Yellow Pages....all we need is Hamlet Cigars and Milk Tray ads and it'd be a true 80s revivalIt does prove one thing though - if you have a good advert and a great script it can stay with the customer, and the brand, forever.

Now will someone run me an overflowing bath so I can eat my Flake in it?

Check out the old and the new Yellow Pages adverts back to back here;
